Chili and Honey Glazed Onions
Ingredients:
* 5 tbs. Boyajian Roasted Chili Oil
* 2 large Spanish or Vidalia Onions
* 1/3 cup honey
* 1 tbs. molasses (unsulphered)
* 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
* 1/3 cup water
* 1/4 cup soy sauce
Instructions:
Peel the onions and cut them into 1" thick slices. Heat the Boyajian Roasted Chili Oil in a wok or slope-sided skillet set over moderate heat. Saute the onions, stirring frequently, until they wilt. Add all remaining ingredients and allow the liquid to come to a simmer. Lower the heat and cook for 20 minutes stirring frequently, until the liquid has reduced to a glaze and the onions are very soft. Serve as a condiment with poultry or beef, or on top of rice or other grains as a vegetarian main course. Makes about 1 ½ cups.
